Catalin Pislaru: : What is it that makes Germany for art so different, so appealing? – non-proof-read – non-proof-read

1 What comes to mind when reading „Germany as a site and a space for art?“ How do you experience working here? Are there any benefits or drawbacks, or other peculiarities?

Germany had always an interesting platform for art, I like to works in places where people are educated to appreciate art, thats why now I’m in Germany. I guess the biggest benefits of this country are the Institutions , For an example Just in Munich are around five museums for Contemporary Art, or an Institution like Kunstverein that is something very interesting, you can find almost just in Germany.

For me the most important factor to develop my works is the environment, I do painting so I need the right conditions to do my researches. Another factor is the intellectual sources that i have, For example I look a loot of movies, I love cinema, because is the most narrative language in art and that helps me after in the studio to do the opposite ,to avoid the narrativity.

2 Which factors are important when developing works, from both the intellectual and the operational point of view? Examples?
