Sies + Höke Galerie

Sies + Höke is a contemporary art gallery, which opened its doors in December 1999 and has been home to exhibitions across a variety of media and genres. The gallery shows the work of established and emerging artists from Europe, USA and South America and also maintains a publishing program to produce exhibition catalogues, monographs, and artist’s books. Sies + Höke has helped foster the careers of the represented artists, including Marcel Dzama, Kris Martin and Federico Herrero (all since the beginning of the 2000s), who had their debut exhibitions at the gallery, and has maintained long-term representation of a wide-ranging, international group of artists such as Björn Dahlem, João Maria Gusmão + Pedro Paiva, Dorota Jurczak, Talia Chetrit and Daniel Gustav Cramer. Since 2015 we have added several new artists to our programme: Henning Strassburger, Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs, FORT, Lothar Hempel, Julian Charrière and Julius von Bismarck. Since 2002 the gallery space has expanded from 200 to 800 square meters. This allows us multiple full-scale exhibitions to be mounted simultaneously. In December 2014 an exhibition and viewing space was added for special exhibitions and projects (+200 square meters) in Poststrasse 3 on the 3rd floor. At the beginning of 2018 we are going to open a new, fourth space with 300 sq meters. In April 2013 Sies + Höke has opened CAPRI, a non-profit exhibition space, in Düsseldorf’s district Flingern with a solo exhibition by Dirk Bell. The program was curated by Moritz Wesseler until the end of 2014 and has been curated by Gesine Borcherdt since 2015. International artists, such as Paloma Varga Weisz, Kitty Kraus, David Adamo, Gregor Schneider, Friedrich Kunath, Björn Braun, Neïl Beloufa, Matias Faldbakken, Michael E. Smith, Martin Boyce, Ajay Kurian and others have shown new works developed especially for this space.
